How is
NatuRose produce?
The all natural astaxanthin
product NatuRose was developed in 1997 in the pristine
environment of Kona, Hawaii - where the ambient climate
and pure sweet waters lead to year-round cultivation of
our astaxanthin-rich microalgae.
NatuRose is formulated to contain 1.5%
astaxanthin. Through careful cultivation, a good production
system and a combination of a controlled close and open culture
environment, a type of microalgae called Haematococcus is
transformed into NatuRose - a consistent, high quality source
of natural astaxanthin.
Due to the protective cell wall, astaxanthin
from Haematococcus is not readily bioavailable when whole cells
are added to feeds. Thus, an important process in NatuRose
production includes a technique which “cracks” greater than 95%
of the cells to enable maximum bioavailability, otherwise known
as comminution. This technique enables the cracking of algae
cell walls while maintaining carotenoid stability. This leads
to higher uptake and better coloration of the farmed
animals.
Phycobiliproteins are
fluorescent pigments used in medical diagnostic testing
and research. Cyanotech, the world’s first micro algae
company to receive ISO 9001:2000 certification, produces
NatuRose from the microalgae grown at its 90-acre facility
in Hawaii using patented and proprietary technology.
Products have been distributed in more than 30 countries
worldwide to nutritional supplement, nutraceutical,
cosmeceutical, and animal feed makers and markerters.
